Imaginary Futures 2050
Exhibition of work by students and Faculty at Alliance Française (Bangalore)
Imaginary futures 2050 brings together works from art, design, technology, law and the liberal arts to challenge the idea that the future is inevitable. Rather than predicting what lies ahead, the exhibition frames the future as fluid, contested and shaped by present choices, inherited histories and lived realities.
The future is not not a distant horizon but one that is continuously formed through imagination, dialogue and collective reflection across science, technology art, design and the liberal arts.
The exhibition includes book, prints, videos, games and installations by faculty and students from Vidyashilp University (Bangalore). Curated by Allan Parker and Vasanthi Mariadass.
The students projects includes analogue (film) photography and work in the darkroom, (photograms and cyanotypes) as well as digital photography with studio lighting. Some students projects feature AI, while some are hand drawn/watercolour renderings of iphone photographs. There are also a number of animations.
