Allan Parker

About

Allan Parker’s work at the interface of art and design reflects on the uses of language and the role of technology. Design pays an important role in this and his wide range of collaborators has included choreographers, museums, trade unions, theatre productions, universities and galleries.

His work has been shown at many locations including The V&A and at the National Portrait Gallery in London and in other cities including Athens (National Ballet School), Belgrade (ICinema Balkan), Bangalore, Chennai Amythyst Gallery, Gera (Germany) and in Tokyo at Club Quatro, – a Nightclub in Shibuya.

He established a publishing imprint, Pure Land Press in 2012, www.purelandpress.net

Allan Parker has been a fractional lecturer on the BA and MA in Photography at the University of Westminster  from 1998 – 2018, and continues to teach at Camberwell School of Art in London and at Vidyashilp University in Bengaluru, India. he has been a visitor at other institutions such as Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology in Bangalore (since 2002) and the Academy in Novi Sad, Serbia. In 2019 he co-founded Footnote Centre for Image and Text with Mia Cuk in Belgrade, Serbia
